"I wasn't trying to leave a legacy, I was trying to do what was right"
I think this quote means that your achievements don't matter that what matters the most is your good character. I think good character matters the most because the more you are nice to people and do the right then the more people will admire you and want to be like you for showing the great of being a good person. Like for example coach Dean Smith he saw his college basketball team as a something else while the people think that the game was only about showing off who was the best. What he means by "I wasn't trying to leave a legacy..." is that he didn't want people to remember him for his succeed, job, or his achievements he was trying lo to leave people to remember him by always choosing the right and being a kind person. I think that his team won many basketball games because of the positive vibes and advice the coach gave to them.
